Man Covers Face in Archipelago Tattoo

One South Sulawesi man has taken his pride in the archipelago further than most may choose after he had the country’s map tattooed across his face.

Identified by Kaltim Tribun as Makassar resident Faris Ceko, the man has quickly gone viral among netizens shocked and bemused at the tattoo, which stretches across the young man’s entire face.

Ceko, who has the tattoo done at the famous Unyil Tattoo in Bali, told local media he asked for the archipelago tattoo after growing tired of people asking where he is from.

“I don’t have to answer people, they just look at my face,” he said, as reported by Tribun.

He also blamed the extensive process of obtaining a national identity card, or KTP, saying the tattoo is a much faster way of proving he is a citizen.

Ceko has a number of other tattoos, but the face is by far the most prominent yet.

“It’s okay to be called scary or whatever, everyone has his or her own perception, so please carry on making perceptions,” Cheko said, as reported by Detik.com.
