A total of 128 people became the victims of a scam for a job vacancy at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI). They were stranded at Gambir Station, on Sunday night, November 11.
Based on information from the @keretaapikita Twitter account, early Monday, 128 people were promised to become KAI employees after handing some money to a person.
“128 people became the victims of a scam after they were promised to become KAI employees after handing over some money to an irresponsible person and they were promised to depart to Yogyakarta using fake tickets for tests,” said the account @keretaapikita.
For this incident, KAI appealed to the public to be careful of individuals who offered the convenience of becoming KAI employees. “Report and ask if there is anything suspicious to us through KAI Contact Center at 021-121 or email at [email protected],” wrote the account.
PT KAI confirmed that it did not charge even one rupiah during the recruitment process and insisted that it did not cooperate with any travel agency during the recruitment process.
Until this news was written by local news outlets, PT KAI and Gambir Station could not be asked for information regarding this job vacancy scam and its 128 victims.
