Brand New Nursery Pod at Nord Anglia School Jakarta

Learn with Nord Anglia School Jakarta

Nord Anglia School Jakarta has a fantastic, new, and expanded learning environment for their youngest learners, ages 18 months to 3 years, in their purposefully designed ‘Nursery Pod’.

Young learners now have access to spacious, interconnected indoor and outdoor spaces where they have the opportunity to explore and engage in purposeful learning challenges and experiences offered in each of the areas. The ‘Nursery Pod’ consists of: a spacious, naturally lit indoor room with beautiful, new furnishings and resources; a stimulating and calm playroom room for the young learners; a soft-play room for adventurous rumbling and tumbling; an outdoor, creative, and messy play area; challenging climbing equipment; and a natural garden to explore and enjoy.

The school nurtures curiosity and independence whilst instilling the joy of learning in their Nursery programme and helping each child to flourish.

Taking a Journey with Nord Anglia School Jakarta

What is it that makes NAS Jakarta Early Years programme special? Is it their highly qualified and passionate educators? Is it their beautiful and thoughtful indoor and outdoor learning environments? Is it their strong belief and understanding in their play-based approach towards Early Years education? It is a culmination of all these factors and more. The school’s holistic, community-centred programme puts your child at the centre of their learning. They know, and value, that your child is unique. That is why their educational offer is tailor-made for each child in their care. Children are invited to learn through areas that interest them and are supported and challenged at the appropriate level to their developmental stage.

Curriculum and Philosophy

NAS Jakarta stays up-to-date with the best educational practices from around the world and enhances their own offer accordingly. The school’s main curriculum guidance comes from the UK. Their Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum is a robust, enabling, and well-rounded approach that values every child as a unique and competent learner who will develop and learn in their own way and at their own pace. They also embrace the Reggio Emilia approach towards education; believing that children learn best through self-directed, experiential play in a relationship driven environment. NAS Jakarta recognises that the importance of play cannot be understated; play is a fundamental part of a child’s learning journey that will only strengthen their later educational successes.

Outdoor Learning

Children are naturally drawn to the outdoors and the exploration and physical opportunities that it provides. At NAS Jakarta, they have a lush, green campus with many outdoor spaces to discover and explore. Your children will have the chance to chase butterflies, see nesting birds, scale climbing frames, construct water channels, try their hand at gardening, or engage with any number of activities set out by their Early Years staff. Outdoor time is an extension of the learning and inquiry that takes place in the classrooms. Teachers are actively involved with students during outdoor exploration, helping them to make connections in their learning and develop respect for nature.
