Beggar Owns Car, Criticised on Social Media

A social media post showing a beggar getting into his own car has gone viral over the last few days. Head of the Bogor Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), Herry Karnadi, confirmed that the man is often seen begging for money at an intersection near Lotte Mart, Bogor. “It’s true that he has a car,” Herry told Kompas on Wednesday.

The man is known as “Abah” to the locals. He was photographed walking towards his car when the Satpol PP was conducting an inspection of the area. Most beggars run away during inspections because they are very likely to be arrested by the authorities.

Abah, who was wearing a white shirt and a sarong, made his way to the parking lot of Lotte Mart to go his car. Despite being the subject of heavy criticism and ridicule, he was spotted begging at the same intersection today, as reported by Radar Bogor.
