Ukrainian Nikita Olkhovskyi Sergeevich has been tried at Denpasar District Court in Denpasar, Bali, for the purchase and possession of illegal drugs.

The police arrested Sergeevich after she bought marijuana and cocaine in the Kerobokan area, North Kuta, Badung, Bali. The case stated that Sergeevich bought 11 plastic clip packages suspected of containing marijuana and one plastic clip of narcotics in May.

The illicit drugs were bought for US$500 from someone named Doni in front of a nightclub in the area of ??Seminyak, Kuta, Badung.

“The police have conducted an investigation into the villa room and found a purple cloth bag containing a blue tissue box with 10 plastic clips each containing leaves, seeds, and dry stems with a net weight of 20.41 grammes, and one plastic clip containing white powder allegedly containing narcotics with a net weight of 0.45 grammes,” said prosecutor Ni Luh Wayan Adhi Antari on Tuesday 1st October.

The items, which were suspected of being narcotics, were tested by a forensic laboratory and confirmed that the leaves, seeds, and dried stems contained cannabis. The white powder was cocaine, a registered narcotic group 1.

“That the defendant planted, maintained, owned, stored, controlled, or provided narcotics in class 1 in the form of such plants without permission from the authorities with the legislation that is not for science,” explained the prosecutor.

Based on the defendant’s statement, the narcotics were bought to deal with depression. The cannabis was consumed by mixing it with cigarettes. For these actions, the defendant was charged with article 111 paragraph (1) or article 127 paragraph (1) Indonesian Constitution Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
