Quick Count: Jokowi Wins Second Term, Beats Prabowo with 55% of Votes

Joko Widodo-Ma'aruf Amin and Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno

Quick count results by three survey agencies, namely Indikator Politik Indonesia, Indo Barometer, and Charta Politika, have put Joko Widodo and his running mate, Ma’ruf Amin ahead of Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno in the presidential election, which was held earlier today.

Indikator Politik Indonesia has revealed that as of 15:00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB), the incumbent candidate had garnered 55.97 per cent of votes, while the Prabowo and Sandiaga ticket obtained 44.03 per cent. Meanwhile, Indo Barometer stated that Jokowi had won 55.32 per cent of the votes, compared to Prabowo at 44.58 per cent. Charta Politika also issued a similar result, with Jokowi beating Prabowo by 54.34 per cent to 45.65 per cent.

About 190 million people are casting their votes across Indonesia today, in the largest, single-day election in the world. However, the lack of facilities and voting ballots in poll stations (TPS) have been reported in some of the regions. Such problems have caused the election to be postponed in certain areas of the country. About 21 subdistricts in Papua and 33 poll stations in Medan will hold their election tomorrow.
