More often than not, the humour from Stevenson’s comedy sketches can be found in our day-to-day experiences as a foreigner living in a foreign country, whether in Indonesia or anywhere else in the world where culture and language collide to form a continuously hilarious exchange. Most are based on stereotypes, but what makes these sketches funny is that they are usually true. Foreigners negotiating the sea of cultural gaffes and language barriers have it rough, but also have the best laughs in the end.
