New Zealand has signed an agreement to enable Indonesian tourists to obtain a visa in only three days.
The agreement, signed by Immigration New Zealand (INZ), Tourism New Zealand (TNZ) and four approved Indonesian travel agents, is an extension of a previous agreement which focused only on Indonesian business travelers to New Zealand.
The four travel agents involved in the agreement were Dwidaya, Golden Rama, Panorama JTB and Wita Tour.
The new rule allows holidaymakers, incentive travel groups and business travelers from Indonesia to enjoy the benefit of more efficient visa service, enabling travelers to obtain a New Zealand visa in only three days.
Furthermore, the visa application process also requires less documents than before if the travel to New Zealand is organised through any of the four travel agents.
“This is a good thing to expand the access of visa-processing ease for tourists – this reflects the success of our cooperation in the Indonesian market and the importance the New Zealand government places on Indonesian tourists as prioritized tourists,” New Zealand Immigration Head Nigel Bickle said, as quoted by KompasTravel last week.
New Zealand Tourism Regional Manager for South and South-East Asia Steven Dixon said new and more efficient visa application arrangement is good news for the ever-increasing number of Indonesian tourists to New Zealand.
“Indonesia is one of the main markets for us for tourism and business activities, and we are experiencing strong growth. As of the end of June 2017, more than 24,000 Indonesians have visited New Zealand – a 35 percent increase from the previous year,” he said.
