The Airport Council International (ACI) has given Airport Service Quality Awards to two Indonesian airports: Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar and Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar.

State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I (API) said that Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport received the third World Best Airport 2016, while Sultan Hasanuddin Airport was crowned the Most Improved Airport in Asia-Pacific 2016.

“This is a recognition of our hard work in improving the services of our airports,” said AP I president director Danang S. Baskoro as reported by kompas.com on Thursday.

The award was received by an AP I representative during the 27th Airport Council International Africa/World: Annual General Assembly Conference & Exhibition from Oct. 17 to 18 in Mauritius.

The recipients of the awards were determined based on the result of an Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey which measures airport users’ satisfaction.

The survey, which was conducted by ACI, an organization based Montreal, Canada, surveyed more than 250 airports with 34 indicators, including checkpoints, security screening services, shopping facilities, restaurants and toilets.
