Christmas clemency

Two men accused in the Pulomas, East Jakarta murder case were arrested by police authorities on Wednesday, December 28.

In a sting operation headed by Supt. F. Hendy Kurniawan, police officers arrested two suspects accused of a sadistic murder at a Pulomas residence that occurred on December 27.

The suspects, identified as Ramlan Butar Butar and Erwin Situmorang, were arrested in Bekasi, West Java, at the house of Butar’s brother. Both are currently being interrogated by the authorities.

The reported multiple murder happened at the residence of billionaire Dodi Triono on Tuesday, December 27. A total of 11 people were reported victims of the crime, where six were found dead from suffocation and 5 others were found injured as they were locked up in one of the toilets in the house since the night before.

The five injured are currently getting medical treatment at the intensive care unit of Kartika Hospital, just a few blocks from the house they were locked in for nearly 24 hours.

Authorities told reporters they are carrying out rigid investigation on the motive behind the murder.

Latest reports have claimed that robbery is not one of the motives as nothing of value from Triono’s luxury house has been taken or reported missing after the murder.

Commissioner Erlinda Iswanto of the Commission for Child Protection has initially stated that the real motive behind the crime was revenge.
