Lion Air

The Lion Air group has announced a 50 per cent reduction in the upper limit tarriff of their plane ticket prices.

However, the reduction will only be valid for different departures and with certain terms and conditions.

Danang M. Prihantoro, Corporate Communications Strategist at Lion Air Group confirmed that the airline will abide by the government’s decision on reducing ticket prices for domestic routes.

“Currently, we are making preparations and process in relation to ticket price adjustment,” Danang added. However, he elaborated that the tariff will not include baggage charges, passenger service charges, value added tax, and insurance fees. Also, the promotional tickets will only be valid 10 days before the scheduled departure.

He further iterated that Lion Air is committed to providing quality air transportation services to facilitate passengers by offering safety, security, and comfort. The special tariffs are also offered to honour Lion Air’s anniversary.

Danang explained that ticket prices for domestic economy class flights are determined by lawmakers. Danang cited a number of factors that are taken into account while deciding the price of an airplane ticket. The factors are: range; government tax, which is 10 per cent of the basic fare; insurance fees; passenger service tax; and the airport tax, which varies across different cities in Indonesia.
